“So- here’s the short version on the sunburst Les Paul. From 1958-1960, Gibson introduced the “sunburst” Les Paul. It was expensive for the time $265, and only about 1600 were wold. However in the 1960s and 1970s, EVERY guitar player, Keith Richards, Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page…rediscovered them and everybody wanted one. Only problem was, they weren’t being made anymore. They have been on multitudes of iconic recordings and performances, thus making them the Holy Grail of electric guitars. And they sound f…ing great and play fantastic and look super cool. The old methods of building guitars are over, and they will never be able to produce anything as good as the originals. So everybody wants one, making them the stradivarious of guitars” -Richard
